Hot, Hot Hot!!

Last night Melissa and I met up on the escalators, and we decided to find a new restaurant in SOHO.  We hopped off the escalators and gridded the streets looking for something that caught our eye.  We came across a Szechuan restaurant.  As we are still learning about the different types of regional Chinese cuisine, we decided to give it a try.

We found this little place with 8 tables, but packed with both westerners & locals so we figured that was a good sign and gave it a try.

We had 2 dumpling dishes (our standard go to Chinese choice) and a fried chicken dish which we had never seen before.  The dumplings were good, but as we were eating the appetizers, the main course came out.  It was served in a huge bowl FILLED with dried round chilies, the alarm bells began to ring.

As a work buddy had turned me onto spicy foods in the last few years, I thought it would be good, but Melissa and spicy don't mix....at all. She ate lots of rice instead.

Wow! it was one of the most spiciest things I have ever had, but nevertheless I continued but knowing it would catch up with me sooner than later.

Easiest way to get up hill, and less sweaty too
Back to the escalators.  As Hong Kong is build up on a large "hill," some areas can get quite steep and you break a sweat just going up one block up hill.  The escalators start in the heart of Central district  and rise up through the Mid Levels. This has been quite convenient for getting to and from Melissa's office.
