We now can actually can cook a meal and have a place to eat it too! Now all we need to do is go grocery shopping... which is easier said than done as everything is... different, as I have said before. When I went to get ground beef to make spaghetti, all they have is minced ground beef. The kicker was that it was over $10 per pound for this Australian beef!
I went to the Chinese Embassy to get a Chinese visa, so we can go to Shenzhen (just across the border from HK), and Hainan Island later next month. The line was literally around the block and there was a guy holding a sign saying that the lobby was "over capacity" and will be closed for the next 3 hours... ummm NO!
I went to a travel services company which takes care of the visa for a small fee which saved me a TON of time and sweat. The strange thing is that US passport holders have to pay twice as much as any other nationality - figures, most of our taxes go to Beijing too.

| We are going to Macau |
While in the metro I noticed an ad for Cirque du Soleil's Zaia show at the Venetian Macau. That sounds like the perfect excuse to make a day trip to Macau and catch the show in the evening. Macau is a short ferry ride from Hong Kong, but it is crazy the amount of ferries connecting the two cities. They run every 15 minutes for most of the day and every 5 minutes during peak times. Now finding the ticket broker was easier said than done but now we're all set! It's showtime!
Melissa had some clothes to take to the cleaners and I had a few shirts, so off I was with a bag of clothes looking for a dry cleaners. I saw one tat looked like the ones in the US... clean and no cats (for the rats I think). The lady was nice enough as she spoke English and wrote a description for each item on the receipt.... SHIT! For 11 items it was almost $100 US!.. Next time, I'll be looking FOR those cats!

You'll be saying more than shit if she doesn't have all eleven items when you return to pick the dry cleaning up.... or worse yet that she gives you someone else's pants......look at the items and just don't count them... you might be surprised....
