Late Friday night Bailey arrived in Hong Kong safe and sound! Her long journey began at 1:30 am Thursday morning in Houston with 19 plus hours of flights ahead of her. As Bailey and I were on the same flight from Newark, we were in a hurry to get to the apartment before the relocation agents stated delivery time frame of 3 hours after arrival. I was too worried about Bailey on the flight, so I didn't have the pre arrival meal and was absolutely starving by this time, so we ordered some pizza delivery once we arrived at the apartment. After sitting around the apartment for an hour the intercom rang and the gate attendant said we had a special delivery.... Melissa and I looked at each other and said Bailey is here! We got her leash, poop bags and bottled water (to wash away the pee), as we are locking up the door the pizza guy arrives, we were severely disappointed (and the pizza was cold too)!

| Too Excited to Sleep! |
I must say, after 4 hours Melissa and I started to get concerned, because the local contact was not answering their mobile. Was there a problem?! At the 4 1/2 hour mark our door bell finally rang and there was the agent with Bailey in her cage. We opened the door to the cage and Bailey jumped into the apartment like she new it was her new home! She was walking from room to room checking everything out, it was so cute. We gave her some food, took her for a short walk and were ready to get some sleep. But, Bailey was not ready, as she sat at the foot of the bed looking out the window at all the lights of her new city.
So thankful that my grand dog arrived safely... I'm thinking that she got plenty of sleep on that long journey... she was in her crate for 24 plus hours.... glad that she likes her new home.....
ReplyDeleteAw - how sweet. I'm glad she's safely there. And I'm guessing her built-in clock has adjusted to HK time?
