Forget Thor, IKEA Saves the Day!

Looking Good!
Sunday we sent back to out apartment to get the dimensions one last time. I knew they didn't change but as we were having such a hard time on the bed, it was better to be prudent. The unit is almost completely renovated, the wood floors have been resurfaced, fresh coat of paint throughout, all new kitchen appliances, and updated kitchen cabinet doors. Units are typically not so heavily renovated before each tenant, but our landlord is updating all his units in our building to look like ours, so it is like we are in a brand new apartment. We are very excited as the apartment looks great and everything is finally coming together!

After the walkthrough, we decided to walk towards Central.  Our apartment is on a hill, so walking to Central is a nice walk that passes through Soho, and you can get to the escalators there, which gets you right into Melissa's building. We spent some time walking around Soho as there are so many international restaurants, Nepalese, Argentinian just to name a couple of exotic ones.  As Sunday was a beautiful day at 74 degrees, sunny with a nice breeze there were a lot of expats sitting out in patios enjoying their brunch.

With the dimensions in our hands, in inches this time, we are ready to head to Ikea.  Anyone who has been to Ikea knows the feeling of being a rat being led through a never ending maze, and this location is no different as it is 2 floors underground. We found a queen bed, well kind of... as there will be a little over hang but we are more than willing to accept it.  No, we didn't stay for the Swedish meatballs.

We worked hard for this meal
After Ikea, feeling rejuvenated, we decided to explore the Causeway Bay area. It is much different than our current district of Kennedy Town which is more residential.  Causeway Bay has the hum of people everywhere and neon lights. We saw the sign on the side of a building for a Thai restaurant, and yes we have had more Thai in China that we have had Chinese.... but you can't go wrong with Thai! We had a great meal of Red Curry and Cashew Nut Chicken, and a Singha Thai beer of course. It was easier to order than it was to find the restaurant.  We went in the front of the building with the sign, obviously! As we make our way to the 5th floor we realize that there is no Thai restaurant here. Determined to find this place we make our way around to the side where there is a line of people passing our flyers to restaurants.. we are in the right place and ready to eat.

All we need now is Bailey- and I am leaving for the US in 5 hours!
