24 Hours in Penang

On our way back to Hong Kong we had to stop over in Penang, Malaysia but this time we made sure we had some time to do some exploring.  After checking in at the hotel we had a great supprise, there was a Nando's next door to the hotel! We took the hotel shuttle to Penang's main night market at night fall. The area was less than inspiring, but Melissa did find her Roti stand so... great success. On the other hand, the market had more offerings than Langkwai but the quality was much less than what you would find in Thailand.

The next morning we went for a walk to the UNESCO World Heritage site, George Town, a very unique area - an excellent example of Malaysia's ethnic diversity with a Little India and China Town.

After wondering through the streets of George Town we headed to the City Hall and  took a stroll down the waterfront before heading back to the hotel to check out and head back to HK. But we did make one last stop...at Nando's for lunch.
