Wow! The past two years have flown by! We recently agreed to an extension so Hong Kong will be home for us for a bit longer. We were able to get an extension on our apartment lease so we won't have to move... yet.
As you can tell from our lack of updates to our blog, we are not really blog people (which we stated in one of our first posts!)
However, as getting better at updating our blog is one of my New Year's resolutions - let's give it a go! That and maybe it will put an end to my mom's nagging me about this blog!
Last year was a busy year and we did a lot of traveling which I will update you on later (I know - delaying already, right?), but we just had a visitor for Chinese New Year in February.
| Yes, HK has blue skies |
My mom (who is newly retired!) came to Hong Kong for a week. She thought she was going to relax but I kept her busy in the kitchen teaching me all of my favorite recipes from my childhood... but I did the washing up...or at least most of it.
As it was in the middle of Melissa's "busy season" she didn't have that much time to join us, but this beautiful day during Chinese New Year she just had to come out with us. We walked down to the harbor stopping at Melissa's favorite cupcake shop for some take out.
After a week in Hong Kong, my mom and I headed to Thailand. We stopped in Bangkok where we visited the Grand Palace and a few Wats (temples). From there we headed up north to Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai was a great reprieve from the traffic and pollution of Bangkok. We spent our time in Chiang Mai enjoying (yummy!!) Thai food, shopping at the night market and getting massages.

Glad that you are back to blogging so that people can see what you are up to... and glad that you listened to your mom, Philip... we perfer being listened to and not nagging... though.... glad that you had a good visit with Regina!!
ReplyDeleteWe hope to make a trip to HK this year!!
Waiting for another blog entry!! :)
